Beloyarsk NPP: participation in the exhibition “INNOPROM-2010”

The purpose of the forum is to discuss the basic impediments to the Russian industry innovations development and drawing up recommendations for their overcoming.
Heads of the leading world and Russian companies: Renova group of companies, Rosatom and Rosnanotech State Corporations, Sberbank of Russia, Enel OGK-5, Gazprombank, Russian Copper Company, UMMC Holding, MegaFon, Siemens, RUSAL and many others took part in the exhibition “INNOPROM-2010”.
Deputy Chairman of the RF Government, representative of the exhibition steering committee Igor Sechin noted at the exhibition and forum opening ceremony that the newest technological developments were demonstrated within the exhibition framework and live issues of the Russian innovations market development for fast modernization competitive growth of the Russian industry were discussed.
Beloyarsk NPP was represented on this exhibition on Rosatom State Corporation and Zarechny urban district administration stands: information, models of the operating BN-600 power unit and BN-800 under construction, presentation products.
Head of Zarechny city Andrey Kislitsyn visiting the exhibition “INNOPROM-2010” announced in his speech directions for Zarechny urban district development. Development of nuclear power industry with fast neutron reactors – construction of the fourth power unit with the BN-800 reactor of 880 mW capacity, establishment of the fifth power unit – the main commercial power unit with the BN-1200V fast neutron reactor are among the priority tasks.
During the work of the exhibition various presentation sessions, discussions and master classes as well as the round table “Innovation as a new kind of property: cooperation between private, corporate and state owners” were held. The exhibition participants carried out a fruitful work during these 5 days: a lot of business meetings and negotiations were held, agreement on cooperation were signed.
Beloyarsk NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC operation all nuclear power plants of Russia. Beloyarsk NPP is the first NPP in the nuclear power industry of the country and the only one with reactors of different types at the same site. At Beloyarsk NPP the unique power unit with a fast neutron reactor of industrial power level is being operated - BN-600. The BN-800 power unit with a fast neutron reactor is being constructed. The fast neutron power units serve for substantial extension of the fuel base of the nuclear power industry and minimization of radioactive waste due to the closed nuclear fuel cycle. The first power units of Beloyarsk NPP with the АМB-100 and АМB-200 thermal reactors have outlived their usefulness.
