"Turboatom" will deliver the equipment for Rostovskaya NPP

By the Contract’s conditions "Turboatom" will implement condensers’ delivery with cooling tubes from titanium alloy for the turbine with capacity 1 Million kW. Condenser has the whole row of design philosophy. The titanium was used for the first time, before the plant worked with copper-nickel alloys and noncorrosive steels. The tubes in canals will be filled, expanded and scalded in the enterprise and in building block execution will be delivered to erection site of the plant. The technology of welding of titanium tubes with tube plates, plated by titanium will be trained along with the Institute of electric welding of E.O. Paton. "Turboatom" also accepted obligations on manufacturing equipment according to norms and standards, acting in nuclear – power engineering of Russia.
In the scope of this Contract the program of control and quality assurance of the equipment is made, allowing the customer at all stages of the condenser manufacture implements corresponded control.
At this stage is made technical preparation of the manufacture, bought models for technology looping courses and completely implemented the project.
The term of equipment delivery is May 2011. The commission of the plant is planned on November 2011. The customer of the equipment for Rostovskaya NPP – concern “Rosenergoatom” (Russia).
As pointed General Director OJSC "Turboatom" Victor Subbotin, this Contract is token for our enterprise and opens further perspectives in Russian power market. "In future time "Turboatom" will take part in tenders on updating power units Balakovskaya NPP, Kalininskaya NPP and other Russian plants", he pointed.
By the words of Victor Subbotin, the work on Rostovskaya NPP gives good loading of procurement and welding engineering and provides extra jobsites: "Now we are implementing necessary hiring of people of working specialties, these are drillers, electric welders, fitters". He also pointed that at the expense of manufacturing new technology and competitive price "Turboatom" has managed to win in the tender along with huge Russian and European turbo designers firms.
The building of Rostovskaya NPP was begun in 1977. In 1990 the building of NPP was stopped. In 1998 by Regulation of General Court of Rostov region was decided to renew civil works on the plant.
At three power units NPP were installed turbines of OJSC “Turboatom” manufacture with unit capacity 1 Million kW. In present time the first and the second power units of Rostovskaya NPP were commissioned according to approved by RF Government in July 1998 "The program of developing nuclear – power engineering of Russian Federation on 1998-2005 and on the period till 2010".
For this moment the Contract is ready for sign, according to which OJSC “Turboatom” will implement reconstruction of turbine of unit No 3 of Rostovskaya NPP, delivered before. Besides was signed the Contract for addition delivery of equipment, necessary for commission power unit No 3 of this plant.
