The third power unit was put into operation at capacity 5% of thermal mW.
At present Kola NPP operates power units Nos. 1, 2 and 3 with total capacity 700 mW. There are no violations of normal operation limits and conditions of the plant power units
Radiation environment in Kola NPP territory and in the 30 km control area does not differ from the natural environmental background
Kola NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Consern OJSC. Kola NPP is located 200 km southwards from Murmansk on the shore of the Imandra lake. Power unit No.1 was commissioned in 1973. Currently the plant operates 4 power units with VVER reactors. Each reactor has capacity of 440 MW. The type of reactor is VVER-440. Kola NPP supplies power for Murmanskaya region and Karelia.
