Innovational Activity of TATNEFT's Employees in 2009 Produced Effect for the Amount of 4.8 Billion Rubles

TATNEFT Company for the seventh time was recognized a winner of the "Republican Contest for best arrangement of invention and innovation activity and patent/licensing work among enterprises, organizations and institutions of the Republic in 2009".
As Lenar Gaisin, Chairman of the Republican Council of the Society of Inventors and Innovators of Tatarstan, reported at the forum, the economic effect of implementing inventions and rationalization proposals amounted to 9 billion 358 million rubles at the whole Republic scale with more than half of the amount received from the implementation of TATNEFT's specialists developments.
According to the Technical Department of OAO TATNEFT, 9523 innovators and inventors of the Company commercially implemented 10,454 rationalization proposals, inventions and utility models in 2009 which yielded a total economic effect of more than 4.8 billion rubles. This amount is comparable with the cost of drilling 120-130 wells. The number of inventions and utility models applied in production increased by 33.7% in 2009. The economic effect resulting from application of innovation proposals and inventions over the past 5 years increased more than 5 fold, and if we compare this index with 2008, the increase was 25%. 219 applications for prospective industrial property rights were submitted to the Federal Institute of Industrial Property of Russia in 2009 and 214 titles of protection were obtained.
A group of OAO TATNEFT specialists were awarded the title of "Laureates of the State Prize of the Republic of Tatarstan" in the field of science and technology for work "Development and industrial introduction of the technical and technological solutions complex providing for preservation, restoration and increase of oil wells productivity". As a result of the 10th All-Russian Contest "Engineer of the Year" 9 specialists of OAO TATNEFT were awarded the title "Laureate of the Contest" Engineer of the Year" and four other specialists were awarded the title "Professional Engineer of Russia". 9 projects of OAO TATNEFT were nominated the winners in the 5th Republican Contest "50 best innovative ideas for the Republic of Tatarstan", and developments of TATNEFT were awarded five gold, four silver and 2 bronze medals and numerous diplomas of "Archimedes-2010" Moscow International Salon of inventions and innovations.
These achievements are the result of systematic work to promote creative activity of employees. The issues of ensuring material incentives for innovators and inventors have been resolved. Provisions have been elaborated for determining the economic efficiency of inventions and innovations implementation. The Company has also introduced the corporate management standard for the results of intellectual activity. The automated system has been developed, which greatly facilitated calculation of economic efficiency.
