“Institute Teploelectroproject” completed work on Shaturskaya GRES CCPP-400

At this time, the institute experts carry on field supervision of construction and presentation of completed buildings to supervisory bodies.
Contract between Institute “Teploelectroproject” (branch of “Engineering Center UES”) and OAO “OGK-4” was signed for the development of approval level design for construction of the whole CCPP-400 technological complex at the site of the existing Shaturskaya GRES power plant. TEP staff developed the approvable part of the design, provided technical support and obtained the favorable conclusion from RF Glavgosexpertiza (main state expert review body) which serves as permit for CCPP-400 unit construction. Later, a contract was entered into for the development of working documentation for the main building and booster compressor station with consortium of General Electric (USA) & Gama (Turkey), the winner of tender for construction and commissioning of a single-shaft combined cycle power unit; and the second contract – with OAO “OGK-4” – for development of working documentation for construction of auxiliary buildings and structures.
“Our experts possess vast experience in design of power plants both in Russia and abroad, and they adapted the Consortium’s “baseline design” developed according to ASME standards, to satisfy the Russian regulations and norms and proposed their own design concept for power unit main structures construction.
In order to coordinate technical solutions and exchange information with Consortium engineers (Chicago, USA), TEP experts created a 3D project model using PDMS software. This made the design time considerably shorter and precluded mistakes and collisions that could occur in the process of construction and installation”, noted Igor Mikhailov, director of branch of “Engineering Center UES” - “Institute Teploelectroproject”.
Shaturskaya GRES is one of the first energy projects built in the 20ies of the XX century under GOELRO plan (plan for electrification of Russia). Today, this biggest power station in Moscow region with generating capacity of 1100 MW is a structural part of OAO “OGK-4”. Supply of the single-shaft modular combined cycle power unit STAG 109FA for CCPP-400 shall be provided by Consortium “GE-GAMA”. CCPP-400 is scheduled to be commissioned in late 2010. It is expected that the new power unit will considerably enhance the reliability of power supply to consumers in the eastern segment of Moscow energy system.
