SUEK confirms compliance with ISO 9001:2008 quality management system standard

The inspection audit to certify the quality management system for compliance was carried out by the Russian office of AFNOR (Association Francaise de Normalisation).
SUEK was initially awarded the ISO 9001:2008 certificate in March, 2009, and this needs to be confirmed annually.
Certifying the SUEK quality management system was phase one in the Company's "pilot" project to have an integrated management system which conforms to international regulations for quality control, environmental management and industrial safety management created and deployed at all SUEK enterprises.
Currently this "pilot" project has been implemented in all core areas of SUEK's business, i.e. at the head office, as well as in its coal and energy businesses. The scope of the integrated system includes:
OAO SUEK: ISO 9001:2008 compliant quality management system. The system was certified by AFNOR.
OAO SUEK-Kuzbass: ISO 9001:2008 compliant quality management system, ISO 14001:2004 compliant environmental management system, ISO OHSAS 18001:2007 compliant health and safety management system. All the management systems were certified by AFNOR.
OAO Kuzbassenergo: ISO 9001:2008 compliant quality management system. The system was certified by BVQI.
