Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev Paid a Working Visit to Gazpromneft-Omsk NPZ

The official delegation was also represented by Gazprom Chairman Alexey Miller, Deputy Head of the Chairman of the RF Government Igor Sechin, Minister of Energy Sergey Shmatko, Presidential Plenipotentiary in the Siberian Federal District Anatoliy Kvashnin, and the Governor of Omsk Region Leonid Polezhaev.
In the course of his visit to the refinery, Dmitriy Medvedev inspected fuel production plants, both launched and under construction, designated for manufacturing of different types of fuel and oil products complying with Euro-4 and Euro-5 standards, including the largest among its Russian analogues light gasoline fraction isomerization unit (Isomalk-2) to be brought into operation in 2010.
Gazprom Neft Chairman of the Management Board Alexander Dyukov represented to the President the application of the facilities and the refinery’s development strategy as well as its medium-term investment program. The presentation was held in the consolidated control room designed for continuous twenty-four-hour management and coordination of various technological processes of as many as a group of production facilities of the refinery. The control room launched in January 2010 is a unique object for the domestic refineries and provides for quality control of operating processes and staff safety in emergency situations. In the consolidated control room, Dmitriy Medvedev performed an online inspection of the territory of the refinery and observed the process of Isomalk-2 construction by means of a specific computer program.
The President had photographs taken together with the workers of the refinery and left a commemorative inscriptive in the logbook.
Following his visit to the refinery, Dmitriy Medvedev held a meeting on energy development issues, where Gazprom Neft Chairman of the Management Board Alexander Dyukov took part along with heads of major Russian companies. According to Alexander Dyukov, the key target in terms of development of domestic processing is not so much the construction of new refineries as the development of secondary processes of advanced oil processing. “Modernization and reconstruction of the existing facilities is our key target along with increase of productive efficiency, cost saving, securing competitive strength in the external markets and upgrade of industrial safety”, - head of Gazprom Neft stated.
