Enefit Green's electricity production grew three and a half times over the first half of the year

In comparison, 626 GWh of electricity produced in six months will be enough for a whole year for nearly 210,000 households with average consumption.

The exponential growth of production volume is mostly due to the acquisition of the Nelja Energia wind farms, but even if we are taking into consideration the last year’s production of these farms, the increase in Enefit Green's electricity production would reach 24 percent.

Aavo Kärmas, the Chairman of the Board of Enefit Green told that the excellent wind conditions at the beginning of the year and the good reliability of the production units contributed to the increase in the production volume.

“The year started with a record-breaking strong and stable wind that contributed greatly towards Enefit Green's first six months production. In addition, all the solar power parks we built last year are operating very efficiently. For example, the renewable energy solution of Ruhnu island already reached the desired output before the summer and 50 percent of the island's electricity comes from renewable sources,” said Kärmas.

The growth of Enefit Green's renewable energy production is essential for achieving the Eesti Energia's goal of producing 45 percent of electricity from renewable and alternative sources in 2023.

The recent investment in acquiring 20 solar park projects in Poland with a total capacity of 19.15 megawatts will also contribute to this. Additionally, the company recently announced that an application for a zoning plan was submitted to Lääne-Nigula Parish in Lääne County to begin an assessment of environmental impact and to find out whether it is possible to build a new wind farm near Risti.

Enefit Green is a renewable energy company owned by Eesti Energia that produces electricity and heat from wind, water, sun, biomass, biogas and mixed municipal waste. This renewable energy company has the most diverse production portfolio in the Baltics.
